A group in the Ministry of Agriculture will coordinate with the industry the process of negotiating the new CAP
The strategic analysis will be presented at the end of this month.
A coordination group at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry will communicate with the industry the process of negotiating the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Ms Desislava Taneva at a meeting with farmers in the town of Byala Slatina. She added that the operational manager and the members of the group will be in continuous contact with the industry. The aim is to take the most useful and adequate measures in the drafting process of the new CAP.
“At the end of July, the first in a series of monthly meetings will be held, at which the industry will be informed about the progress of each Member State in the negotiations for the new CAP. I want stakeholders to be convinced that there is enough transparency on the topic, added Ms Taneva. She pointed out that there is still no agreement on the multiannual financial framework, but it is expected for it to be negotiated by the end of the year. It will then proceed to the finalisation and adoption of the three regulations, which will lay down the rules under the new CAP.
Minister Taneva pointed out that our country defended the position already debated with the industry and was accepted by the Council of Ministers. According to Ms Taneva, the payment ceilings must be a matter of national decision, in order to preserve and increase the percentage of tied support and also keep the national transitional aid. Ms Desislava Taneva informed that the strategic analysis, which is being prepared by the Institute of Agricultural Economics, is towards its finishing line and will be presented at the end of this month.
