The first stage of BAALO’s charity campaign “Together Against Covid-19” has ended.

BAALO’s charity campaign “Together Against Covid-19” supports 32 regions in need

In the course of  five months, the charity campaign initiated by the members of the Bulgarian Association of Agricultural Land  Owners, have helped nine hospitals, four institutions as well as the families of two deceased medical workers. The aid covered 32 settlements and was entirely drawn up to the needs of the beneficiaries.

BAALO states that this is the first stage of the charity campaign “Together Against Covid-19”. The Association continues to closely monitor the situation and may resume it if necessary.

“One of the first donations we made equalled 5,000 BGN which benefitted the Bulgarian Academy of Science for their research named “Project for scientific research to fight  Covid-19 and other infectious diseases”, said the President of the Association Mr Stayko Staykov. “It was important for us to be next to those in need living at the Home for the Elderly People  in Gara Oreshets village, Dimovo region, who were affected by the Corona virus infection. We have supported nine hospitals in the country as well as their medical teams to whom we have  expressed our gratitude and empathy for their daily care for the patients”, said Mr Staykov.

BAALO’s charity campaign also helped by donating protective equipment and disinfectants to the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, to 28 regional agricultural offices of the Ministry of Agriculture, and to the Home for the Elderly People in Gara Oreshets, Dimovo region to which additional duvets and bedding sets were donated.

Donations were also made to the foolowing beneficiaries: St. Panteleimon Hospital, Yambol; Pirogov Hospital Sofia; The Clinic of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Tsaritsa Ioanna University Hospital, Sofia; the National Hospital for Active Treatment of Hematological Diseases in Sofia; Botevgrad Hospital; Pernik Hospital; St. Petka Hospital Vidin; Dr. Ivan Seliminski Hospital in Sliven; and to the General Hospital for Active Treatment in Karnobat, where 12-channel ECG machine was donated.
