ЕЛО избра свой нов президент.

Европейската организация на собствениците на земи (ELO), чийто член е Българската асоциация на собствениците на земеделски земи (БАСЗЗ), проведе на 1 юни 2023 г. своята Генерална асамблея в Мадрид.

Господин Тиери дьо Лескай, генерален секретар на ELO от 1995 г. до момента бе избран за изпълнителен президент на мястото на господин Дреж.

Господин Юрген Так бе избран за нов генерален секретар. През последните седем години той е бил научен директор на ELO.

Досегашният президент господин Пиер Оливие Дреж, бе избран за почетен президент.

Brussels, June 6, 2023 — The European Landowners’ Organization (ELO) recently held its General Assembly in Madrid on June 1, marking a significant moment for reflection, exchange, and celebration of the organization’s accomplishments over the past year. The event brought together dedicated professionals and esteemed individuals who have played pivotal roles in promoting a prosperous and attractive European countryside.

This General Assembly was particularly special as it served as a platform to honor the remarkable journey of Thierry de l’Escaille, the former Secretary General of ELO since 1995, who has transitioned into the role of Executive President. With 28 years of unparalleled dedication, passion, and hard work, Thierry de l’Escaille has been the driving force behind ELO’s success and most significant achievements. ELO expresses deep gratitude for his unwavering commitment and outstanding leadership, which has propelled the organization to the forefront of the agricultural, environmental, and rural activities’ sectors.

As Thierry de l’Escaille assumes his new role as Executive President, ELO warmly welcomes Jurgen Tack as the new Secretary General. Jurgen Tack, who served as ELO’s Scientific Director for the past seven years, is now embracing his new responsibilities. ELO recognizes the immense value that both Thierry de l’Escaille and Jurgen Tack bring to the organization, as they remain resolutely committed to advancing ELO’s mission of promoting a sustainable and prosperous countryside, while raising awareness of environmental and agricultural issues.

ELO would also like to express its gratitude to Pierre Olivier Drège, the former President, who has transitioned into the role of Honorary President. His contribution to the organization has been invaluable, and ELO acknowledges his ongoing support and wisdom. 

ELO’s unique position among NGOs in the agricultural, environmental, and rural sectors is a testament to the expertise and dedication of its team. The organization is privileged to have these exceptional professionals on board, working diligently to shape the future of European countryside and address the challenges it faces.

Thierry de l’Escaille’s extensive background includes being a trained lawyer, farmer, and forester, with agricultural family farming enterprises in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. He is a cofounder of the RISE Foundation, and his active involvement in numerous national and EU organizations related to agriculture, environment, and trade underscores his profound expertise and influence. Furthermore, Thierry de l’Escaille’s commitment to regenerative agricultural methodologies and conservation efforts worldwide showcases his dedication to restoring the balance between nature and agriculture.

Jurgen Tack, the new Secretary General of ELO, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role. With a background in biology, including marine ecology, and a PhD in Sciences, Jurgen Tack has made significant contributions in various capacities, including the development of oyster farms along the Kenyan coast. His leadership as the CEO of the Research Institute for Nature and Forest, coupled with his tenure as ELO’s Scientific Director, has equipped him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of environmental and biodiversity issues.
